Medieval, Majestic, and Maverick

Yesterday I posted a little reminder
to my blogging buddies to "Breathe".
I loved that Karen over at Quarry Garden
said she has that posted on her
refrigerator because she too forgets
 to slow down and breathe!
Well, I too, have it on my office wall
and it's what Martha would call a "good thing".
Today as I am rushing around
catching up at home getting ready to go and
baby-sit, bills to pay...laundry piling up...dishes in the sink....
and a table-scape to blog about!!
I realized everything was a blur and my head was spinning.
"BREATHE Lisa"

two chill pills and things started to get clearer!

TaaDahhh!! a table set for a beautiful pheasant feast!!

Now if only I had invited guests to this feast....

The menu would be:
Roast Pheasant Under Glass
Garlic Potatoes
Corn Bread Dressing
Creamed Asparagus
Cranberry Salad
Plum Pudding
(sounds Medieval don't you think)
Dinner will be served promptly at 6:00 in the Sall Farm Dining Room....

There's always room for one more, you can sit here.

I had fun doing this table...
I knew I wanted it casual
so, I pulled out our "better" everyday dishes
they are Sorrento and are mix and match colors that I love.
The purple, green, red, and blue work in every season!
Next I picked out some of our
favorite antiques from around the house...

my antique spatter-ware bowl and Sall's blue and white pitcher worked in great.

Each place setting has it's own
little butter dish (Royal Adderley China)
each with a different game bird design.

Keeping it a little less fancy,
today, I chose the cobalt blue wine glasses
(also) I think they bring out the
blue stitching in my heirloom napkins.

I placed one of our amber colored ornaments
with hand painted feathers on each plate along with a fanciful pheasant feather.

Now, if I could only pull off that menu as quickly
as I pulled together this table-scape...
That would be Magical!

I enjoy decorating the table more than preparing the meals,
so I think I'll stick to fictional dinner parties, and let you all just
enjoy it from your computers!!

Mix-and-Match dishes, antiques with crystal, china with pheasants!
Yep, that's the maverick in me!

I hope you are slowing down and staying focused during this
hectic time of year.
Keep it simple and have a great day!
Lisa

I am sharing this post with "Between Naps on the Porch" for Tablescape Thursday.
