Winter Warmth

Keeping the home fires burning
is no easy task these days.

The wood pile is close by...

but, if you've never cut or hauled wood...

well, it's not as easy as it looks.

We've been trying to
ration out the pile.
Wearing 3 layers of clothing,
makes it a little easier.

These days, there is nothing
sweeter than a warm fire!

Cold, snowy, wintry weather is
abundant across the U.S. this year.
We are very fortunate to have
a roof over our head and a warm
place to sleep.
A true blessing that we
do not take for granted.

Give us strength to forbear and to persevere.
Give us courage and gaiety
and the quiet mind,
spare to us our friends,
soften to us our enemies.
Robert Louis Stevenson

Warm thoughts tonight and always,

I love that prayer. You are so right. I think about those souls out there with no home, living in the elements..no matter the reason they got there--it’s not place for anyone to be. You fire is so cozy and I love the photos. That oil lamp on the mantle is just perfect ;)

The fire looks so warm and comforting! Our central unit seems to run all the time and I still feel cold!Going to hate to see the next electric bill, but thank goodness we have an electric bill and the house for it!

I do hope we have an early Spring...
The fire looks very warm and cosy but I wondered what it is like to leave it at night to go to bed, is it extremely cold?? Keep warm and safe and lets hope your temperature changes soon. It has got warmer here 50f, but I don't think our winter is over yet, it is too early for Spring!!

Best wishes, Jackie in Surrey, UK.
Oooh, I love a fire. I also love the smell of it. Yours looks so cozy. I too think about all the ones without a roof over their heads. I hate the thought of it. Oh a lighter note, I have an award for you over at my place if you could stop by.

I love a fireplace and this old house has two big ones. Unfortunately, neither of them are fit for use. So sad! But I am dealing with it ~
