Friday Fences

After the snow....

Yesterday A.M.

the garden...

fence...

and fresh snow....

Me and my Panasonic Lumix Point-and-Shoot
have such a wonderful,
easy-going and fun relationship

But I do get a little green
when I see the wonderful photos
on other blogs....

can zoom in on the the most
beautiful Texas birds!

can catch birds in motion
like none I've ever seen

makes still life an art form

not to mention
some pros like...

Tricia at Bluff Area Daily

These are just a few photo
blogs I love to visit
for inspiration...

I'm trying out a used Canon EOS Rebel T2i

what do you think?

Buried Fence

I love the extended zoom lens!
55-250mm

Useful Fence

Crisp, clear pictures!

Footprints and Fence
The camera is a year old and belongs to a friend.
I'm ready for a step up to an SLR, but know nothing
about cameras!
I know the camera doesn't make you a great photographer
but, I'd sure like to be like one!

Anyone have any advice for a real amateur?

I'll be deep into a Canon
user manual all weekend...

Enjoy your weekend!

i'm honored to be included in with those you named! i'm totally an amateur, even if i've had my dslr for over a year. i let it do 99% of the work and thinking. the others you named know what the heck they're doing... :)

Forget the camera. Get yourself a fancy sewing machine, much more useful.

That is VERY similar if not identical to the camera you used at our wedding.
I love all your pictures. I do think that the Canon Rebel gives sharper pictures.
I'm just an amateur too and would love a better camera with a an extended zoom. But I can't afford one right now. The camera I have now does have a lot of features that I don't know how to use. So I'm trying to learn them before I go to a more expensive camera.
I am familiar with some of your inspiration blogs, but am going to check out the others.

I to am a amature photographer It took me some time to learn digital becaue I used to use film that I developed myself many years ago with a Minolta 35mm camera it looks much like the digital ones. I stoped photography for many years then picked it up again in Digital ! I had the Nikon D60 but after a bit it was acting up and there wasnt anything that they could do about it so then I bought the Nikon D3100 and all Nikon Nikkor lenses dont know to much about Canon but I am a trail and error learner with digital and alot of reading, forums with others and just go out there and play . These cameras these days no one will ever know the entire camera and what it can do and that quote came from a pro in one of my photography books and I believe that ! Have a blast with your new camera it will bring you much joy as mine does and I will never stop photography again ! Have a great day !

I think your photos are great...I like your perspective....dont be intimadated with an SLR...you can shoot on auto until you really learn the settings n programs. I have a Nikon D3000 and I bought nikon for dummies manual..you can buy one for Canons too! They explain things like your in kindergarden..I like that..haha
wow, what great views. love the fences. snow is such a great background. (:

Love fences in the snow! Getting a new camera is always fun, but intimidating! I'm a slow learner so I love shooting on auto and working with photo editing programs.

The great thing about DSLRs is that you can learn as little or as much as you like -- these cameras are so smart, they can make anyone (even me) look like I know what I'm doing.

Thanks for the shout-out, Lisa. Very sweet of you. :)

Oh, and love the photos. You have a good eye.
