From The Cowgirl Within

I would love to have a horse....

they remind me (a little) of Golden Retrievers,

so attentive and obedient....

the relationship between a cowboy and his horse
is filled with respect and gratitude....

that is a great reason to have a horse,

my horse would be called L.J.

after the one my brother had in his teens....

L.J. headed right for the clothesline
when my father put me on his back!

I was maybe 7 or 8 years old,

my Dad felt terrible,
luckily I was able to get up and brush myself off....

I guess that horse never appreciated my cowboy spirit

and I certainly didn't show any gratitude for the
clothesline mark left on my neck!!

I forgave that horse the minute
I got up!
and
I still love horses.

I'm sharing with Nancy and Lisa
wow, did this week fly by or what?

Tune in tomorrow and bring
something fresh for
Farm Fresh Friday!!

I do love horses. I had a grand steed years ago. They are such amazing animals. Yes. the week flew by. Hoping that you have a good weekend.

Beautiful shot of the horses! They're one of the most enjoyable animals to have.

I was bucked off a horse at age 9 or 10 and bucked off at about age 38. I gave up on trying to be a cowgirl since I just wasn't good at it.

Happened to me twice, two smart ponies! First one dropped me and headed right back to the barn. The second dropped me and headed straight for an apple tree! I love ponies! and I love your family picture.

Love your stories . . . I remember with great fondness riding bareback on a friends horse . . . felt like freedom.

I love horses, but not having been raised with them, and at my age, I don't feel it's the right time. Do you think you will get one? :)

I just love both of your pictures! :)
I gave up on horses after getting bucked off a couple of weeks ago, I'm just too old for that kind of nonsense! LOL!!
