Endless Possibilities
Yesterday I had a little time,
so I popped
in on the Beyond Layers Course
at Kim Klassen's site
I signed up for the year long course,
but have discovered there is just
NOT enough hours in the day
(if ya know what I mean?)
She's on day 49...
I think I'm back at day 14!!
Oh well, I'm sure I can
get caught up this winter!
Anyway, it is a dynamite, inspirational,
chock-full of good stuff kind of course...
everyday (I've logged in)
I have learned something new and fun!!
Day 49 is a tutorial on how to make a "color story board"....
Since Kim only works on Photoshop
and I only work on FREE downloadable programs,
it's always a challenge to do what she does!
But, let me tell ya, anything is possible
when you're determined and cheap!!
This is my version of
a color storyboard.....
You can take any photo and pull out any
color from the photo to make a color palette...
I added the word "Peachy"
as that is how I felt when I completed
the little project!!
Sweet - don't you think?
What a great way to find colors to
paint with...
I'm always telling clients to find an object
that inspires them and pull some colors from that object.
This is going to be a great tool
for this painter
from now on!!
By the way...
I used a program called
Corel Painter Essentials
that I downloaded from the internet
a couple years ago for about $49.99
I just looked it up and they have updated
versions on sale for around the same price
Photoshop elements has 2 versions
one is $99.99 (why don't they just say 100 bucks?)
and the other $149.99
Photoshop is much more sophisticated
and does much more,
obviously you get what you pay for.
I have definitely gotten my $50 bucks worth
with the Corel program and would recommend
it highly if they paid me to recommend it
which they aren't,
so suit yourself
I just hope you think my
color story board
is Peachy!!

I've been thinking about signing up for some online photo editing classes but I only use the FREE programs too. Right now, I'm using Pixlr quite a bit. Maybe this winter would be better, more time.
Loved the barn the kitty is snoozing in and the weekend with the grandchildren was so delightful, too.
The weather here is far from delightful lately, but I guess it could be worse. Some rain would be a blessing, wouldn't it?
