Faith Family and Fellowship

The Big Country Celebration
was a HUGE
Success!!

the little church on the prairie
had a birthday
and they came from far and wide
to honor and to celebrate!

On this special day
the little church steeple
shared it's place on the prairie
with the Big Top...

the Lord provided a beautiful summer day...

The Bishop traveled all the way from Sioux Falls
to preside over the service....

Such an auspicious occasion!

This little church...

this Congregation...

has survived through
tornadoes, a devastating fire,
and tough economic times!

The families that gathered under it's roof
 are a testament of unity,
goodwill,
and FAITH!

It was very heart-warming to be a guest...

to be among them...

pride and love was everywhere you looked.

 This congregation of hard-working
farmers, ranchers
and REAL cowboys
(big and small)!

They all came out to pay
tribute to the little
Church on the prairie...

after the service
we all gathered under the big tent
for dinner...

every one brought a dish
and that meant about
a half mile of
awesome,
delicious,
country cooking!!

My plate could have used some
side bars to hold it all!!

If anyone went home hungry...
well,
 they were a more dedicated
dieter than me!

it was truly a day of
Faith,
Family,
Fellowship....

and fun....

there were sack races....

and tug of war...

I'm pretty sure it was
a contest of determination
and this side won...

is it any wonder? -
look at the faces on the lead guy
and the anchor girl!!

All of the kids
(and there were a pile of them)
were having such a great time
just being kids!

Some day they will realize they witnessed
history and hopefully they'll bring their kids
to this great little church!

Because I have a pretty good
idea this little church will be here
for another 125 years....

the little cowboys and cowgirls attending this celebration
are being raised on good wholesome values
and will keep their family traditions going strong!

They will turn into farmers and ranchers
and bronco busters
and always remember
their faith
and the church
that instilled that faith
in them!

Have a great week my friends
and remember
"to have faith".
