An Unforgettable Father's Day

This is our rooster, "Sully". He struts around the yard all day keeping the hens in line. He has his favorites, because when we throw out bread crumbs, he'll only share them with certain girls. His life is pretty good these days, but he had a sad and tragic childhood experience....
The only one left to tell about it (besides his owner,Farmer Sall)....
When he was just a small chick, he and his sisters and brothers were all safely tucked in under their mother hen for the night. A huge raccoon scratched and clawed his way into the chicken house and ravaged the place. It killed all of his Aunts and bit the heads off of his little siblings. He was seriously traumatized by the whole experience. Him and a few of the survivors refused to ever go back into that building, and to this day they stay way away from it and sleep on the highest rafters of their home.
That was Father's Day 2005 or so?? Farmer Sall still recalls the experience of opening the chicken house door on Father's Day morning and the sick feeling he got seeing all his chickens dead and mutilated!! Needless to say, he caught that nasty coon and 12- gaged him shortly after.
