Sunny Side Up

Rise and shine....
It's another brisk beautiful wintry morning.
Grab your hat and mittens and meet me in the country.
We're having a sunny-side-up-put-a-smile-on-your-face-
tummy-pleasing-eye-candy kind of breakfast!!!

The hens have been busy...
(well busy keeping warm,
they're getting old and it's been too cold for egg laying)

They could only muster up three eggs today.
How do you like your egg?

Some warm oatmeal will fill us up.

How about a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice?

wake up your biceps and start squeezing!!

Sorry, this farm doesn't have a milk cow,
so could you please pass the skim milk?

We're using my collection of enamelware this morning.

Red and White Bowls (fitting for the season) on top
of these great Mary Engelbreit cherry plates

I've been collecting Mary Engelbreit tins
and prints since around 1990.
I just love her art!

Antiques in amongst it all!!

My mother's "Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk" pitcher
Sall's Mom's Glass Juicer

and
An antique egg basket

One layer of table cloth was sewn by Mom
years ago to fit a card table.
Isn't the ric rac soooo cute?
(is that how you spell ric rac?)

I'm so glad you got up early this morning!!

Now that you've shared a
hardy country breakfast with me,
you can....
clean the house, scoop the walk, feed the chickens,
walk the dog, do the shopping,
finish the decorating, do the dishes,
bake some cookies, make two more meals,
do some more dishes, do the laundry,
pay some bills, balance the checkbook,
call your mother, and finish the Christmas cards.
Whew!

Have a terrific Thursday all!
Lisa

I'll have mine sunny side up, no hard yellow...my favorite is to have my egg on a homemade pancake! What time should I be there? Thank you for sharing your charming design...hope the hens stay warm this winter. Cherry Kay
I will pass on the eggs, thanks. No offense meant, I don't eat our fresh eggs either. Love to bake with them tho. Hubby has lights on to keep our few chicks warm, and says it helps them lay eggs.?. I love the red speckled plates you have there.
