Dreamin'

Far away, there in the sunshine,
 are my highest aspirations….
I can look up and see their beauty,
believe in them,
and try to follow where they lead.
—Louisa May Alcott

I've been spending a lot of hours
in a hospital room with my mother.
As she lay there resting, I can't
help but wonder where the years went.
I never think of her as old, but laying
there so helpless suddenly she looks
like my Grandmother. Mom's should just
stay mom's....always there with an apron on
and ready to cook you whatever you want!
Sending surprise packages home with you,
and calling up with dumb questions!!
She is 80 now and the road to recovery
just keeps getting longer and harder.
My dad would always ask me,
"what would we do without her?"
I really don't want to find out.

"Lord, give her strength and will to carry on,
if that doesn't work maybe some fabric and a new quilt pattern!"
Thanks
 and
 Hugs,
