A Rural Snow Day

Aren't Blizzards Beautiful?

Well, they are
on February 23rd anyway!!

We woke up to snow on the ground,
the weatherman kept saying it was north of us...
and it just kept snowing more and more!

Tells you what they know :(

Big beautiful flakes coming down
with just a light wind...

I opened my kitchen window
and stuck the camera out for a picture...

It's pretty, but not worth getting all wet!

~~

then I decided to try to photo
the Christmas Cactus...

It's starting to bloom again
(another "sign" not to give up on winter yet!)

the light coming in the window
was just enough for a pretty photo....

snap, snap,

snap, snap, snap...

(every photographer knows
you need to take a hundred
shots to get juuust the right one, right?)

I took some in macro-mode...

snap,

snap,snap...

snap,snap,.....snap,

HUH?

somebody's in my shot?

Hello!!!

I guess he decided
it was too wet out
for him too!

(that's not a screen photo texture,
it's my old holy screen window)

I let Max in (wet paws and all)
and decided it was time to get on with my day...

Sall will have to venture
out in the snow...

we're out of milk!

I think I've ran completely out of
milk a total of three times
since living on this prairie...

and every time happened to be
just before a major blizzard!

hmmm, another "sign"??

While he goes to town...

I won't waste any time crying about it...

;)

I'll be too busy blogging!

Try to Weather the storm
where ever you are today...
Hugs,

Linking with Rural Thursday today

You know...I never could figure out that pitcher with the headless people? But after looking at it so many years I had to go out and buy one like it. Maybe some day it will come to me.

So sorry you have a storm, but I'm sure that's pretty normal for on the prairie. It's been very mild here and it's been nice not to have to shovel snow even once this winter. Now that I've said that, we'll probably get a blizzard too.

Yes, snow really is beautiful--when you do not have to bet out on the highway. The Christmas cactus is pretty stunning. My mother in law could grow Christmas cactus. And the poor puppy, must be ready to come in warm up. Cute dog. Love Goldens.

You are hilarious! We aren't getting as much snow as you are, but it was blowing it around here. Great shots.

Oh, wow! Beautiful snow shots, Lisa! I wish we'd get some of that before winter is over.
Beautiful photos! Love the one with your dog peeking in! We finally had some snow this week, too!
Great post, in the first photograph you have captured the blizzard so well!!
