Betsy's Bouquet
Ever since I planted the seeds
in April
Betsy and I have
been anxiously
waiting for our bouquet
of Sunflowers!!
Well, it's
not much of a
bouquet...
you see,
first came the weeds,
then the bugs,
then the winds...
and now I'm lucky
for 4 or 5 nice
Sunflower heads!
It's a cool and cloudy morning
so Betsy asked
if she could come over
and have her picture taken
on the farm with some
sunflowers!!
She loves her sunflowers!!
I was out with the camera anyway
(getting some shots for
tomorrow's Rural Thursday Post)
so I said come on over!!
She came prepared with
some of her own flowers
(since mine aren't the best this year)
and we did a little
tour of the farm...
snapping pictures
at every point of interest!
in front of the chicken coop...
(good thing the chickens were
on the other side of the yard!)
In the grape arbor...
under some yard junk art....
We admired some other flowers
along the way...
the hostas are almost
done blooming...
we stopped at the fish pond...
and reflected for a bit...
one last pose by the only
sunflower open today...
Isn't Betsy a great subject?
She never flinches even with
a bee buzzing around her bonnet!!
We closed the garden gate
and talked about
how and where to plant
more sunflowers next year...
maybe gathering seeds now
and planting them earlier??
Betsy had all kinds of suggestions...
that's just the way she is!
"Would you like Betsy
to visit you?
If so, I have some
medication to share with you too!!"
:)
Have a happy day,
Thanks for stopping by
and smiling with me today!!
Lisa
