Barn Charm Inside Edition

A little Friday night road trip
took us to the neighbor's house
for his 47th birthday party...

a backyard barbecue
with 9 kids in attendance!

It's never a dull moment
in their neighborhood!

While the adults
were busy setting tables
and getting food prepped,
these girls were busy
digging!!??

I had to go find out
what the heck they were digging for...

they were busy as beavers
moving dirt and gravel...

they said they were
digging out seats!!

I said seats for what?

they said, "seats to sit in, silly!"

Ahhh, ya gotta love kids
with imaginations don't cha?

Then they wanted to know
if I've ever been in their barn?
When I said no
they could not
wait to go exploring with
me!

We grabbed up Sall
and all of us headed
for the old abandoned barn...

The weeds at the entry were taller
than most of the girls
and inside it was DARK!

A few birds high-tailed it out
as we were going in,
I thought it was
kind of freaky...

but the girls were
all about exploring
every dark corner
and most of all
the LOFT!!

When we reached the top
of the little narrow ladder
it was quite astounding!

A huge open space
(lit up from the open hay mound)
the first thing we all thought
of was a barn dance!!

There were two of these old corn grinders up there
the girls were so interested in it all,
asking Sall 100 questions....

They all jumped up on this old pile of hay
to pose for the camera, then it was time for dinner...

ooops, one more pose
on the ground level of the barn...

My little Barn Charmers...

Aren't farms just the greatest
place to raise kids?

These farm kids are so ambitious
and love the outdoors!

Give them on old barn to explore
and you wouldn't see them all day long!

It was a fun night...

they wanted to take me on to
the next old building
but, it was getting dark!
Maybe next time, girls!!

And next time we won't forget
about you, Short Stop!!

Hope you enjoyed
seeing inside of a barn
for a change,
(I know I did).

Have a Great Wednesday!

Cute post. Nothing like a barn to play in for kids! Brought back good memories of the good ol' days. Never thought I would call my childhood the good ol' days? yikes!

Cute pictures! Looks like they were having fun hamming it up for the camera! :)
Oh my gosh, I LOVE this post. I am in love with the Little Barn Charmers, and the picture of the little guy, I think you called him Short Stop, made me laugh right out loud. So sweet. You take amazing pictures, I wish you lived near me, it looks like you had so much fun! I am looking forward to your next post, I really love your blog!
Thanks so much for visiting and leaving the nice comment on my post. I would have written sooner but mom had another fall and I have been in the hospital and nursing home for so many hours I haven't had time to do anything!
Hugs,
Julie

Those dirt seats are awesome! Rather ingenious! That's a fantastic old barn! It's rare to see the inside of a barn for Barn Charm. Your first photo of the road is beautiful!

That's an energetic bunch, digging their own seats! And all the enthusiasm of barn exploration. Sounds like a lovely evening.
