In Their Shadows

Tagging along with men and their dogs...

men that have been hunting their whole life...

just a bunch of guys that make
opening pheasant weekend
more memorable
by all getting together
at the the same spot
every year...

They come to shoot pheasants
with the boys....

and do some bonding with
their loyal 4-legged buddies...

if all goes as expected,
they get a gorgeous day,
and the birds come out
to challenge their
shooting abilities....

the boys can still
brag about hitting
some fast flyers at long ranges...

and I can brag about capturing
the whole event...

right down to the
tail feather getting clipped in half!

this was a fun hunt to follow along...

and there was some awesome shooting going on...

from Winchesters and
my canon rebel...

Some great shots
and sore legs...
but it was worth
keeping up with the men!

Thanks for letting me tag along fellas!!

See ya next year!

Lisa

Wonderful photos ! Do you use photo shop for your images ?
Thanks Gals! Country Gal: No I didn't photoshop anything in this set of pictures. The most processing I did was on the last group shot (I used photoscape watercolor on that one) other than that, some cropping, resizing, framing and watermark and that was it!
Really great photos! I love the processing on the last one.

Wonderful shots of the hunt.
I'm not a hunter (could never shot an animal) but my dad was and my brothers have all hunted. More deer then birds though.

I love the shot of the Tree and hunter/dog near the end and your last shot of the group, great vintage feel.

Your blog header is perfect for the season.
