Thanksgiving Break - Ouch!
What a hectic week this has been...
as the weather-vane in this picture
suggests, I did not know
if I was going up or down...
that was just about the time
my back went out...
then I knew I was going down!!
My prairie-life is far from boring
most of the time...
If I can get out and
capture a few serene shots
of the farm, I am grateful...
These Dakota skies never let me down...
Some paint work in town
kept me in the creative zone this week...
Our small town is lucky enough
to have a new bakery/coffee shop/eatery
opening SOON...
They commissioned me to
paint something special on one wall...
Sall applied his artistic hand-texture,
and I high-lighted it with paint and glazes...
The shop will be called "Sweet Grass"
and that is what the customers
will see when they first enter the shop!...
Speaking of baking and eating...
How was your Thanksgiving??
Our electricity went out for a couple
of hours Thursday morning...
I was seriously beginning to wonder
if we might be driving to McDonalds??
It finally came back on just in time
to get our small turkey in the oven!
We assembled the stuffing the night before,
but I still had a pie to bake....
a corn casserole to make,
squash,
and potatoes and gravy to fix...
I got the corn dish
and my pumpkin pie together
and when I bent over
to check the pie in the oven
that's when my back went wacky!
after that my day was shot...
I didn't feel like setting a fancy table,
the food didn't taste good ,
and all I could feel was
pain shooting through my spine...
the only good thing was that
I got out of doing the dishes!
After about 36 hours of laying flat on
my back, the inflammation has gone
down and I feel good enough to sit
at my desk again....
it's a good thing, because
I have 598 photos to process!!
Did I mention I'm trying to get
a photography business started?
Sunday I spent a couple hours
on a family photo shoot...
four of the cutest kids...
Barns....Bales....
and Boots....
A little time consuming,
but
it's doing what I love to do!!
Next week I train for
another part-time job...
wish me luck,
and don't step on any
cracks....
you never know who's back
it's going to break!!
Have a great weekend!
Lisa
