Quilted Farm Friends

It's Farm Friend Friday
at
Verde Farm

This gives me the perfect
opportunity to dig back
in my collection of photos
and share some more of
Mrs. Z's beautiful quilts....

It was hard to pick a favorite
but, this Farm Quilt
is definitely in the running!
to see more of her fun quilts and where
she creates click here and here.

I could've sat and stared at
this gorgeous piece of farm art
for hours and not seen
all of the many intricate details!

Every imaginable farm animal,
all captured in cloth and quilted thread!

Isn't it fun to look at?

A real farm crowd pleaser!!!!

Twila (Mrs. Z) thought she spent about
4 months of evenings and weekends
piecing and stitching it all together!
Then she sent it out to have it quilted by machine.
Another 22 hours on the machine and it was complete!

The photos are just some of the
individual blocks.
All together they measure
a 62"x72" quilt.

I think it's just the cat's meow,
and would love one laying
on the bed!
But, that would mean
no more cats on the bed!
Oh ohhh well, good thing
I don't have one I guess.

From the squigly little tails on the pigs
to the weather vane on the barn...
I just can't imagine
cutting and then stitching
around everything on this quilt!
Kudos to you, Mrs. Z, on your fine work!
It's PURPLE ribbon material in my eyes
and
definitely something to crow about!!
Thanks for stopping by, farm friends!

for hosting Farm Friends Friday...
please check out the others joining in,
you're sure to be entertained!!

Lisa, I've been sewing for years but have never made a quilt. What an artistic triumph for Mrs. Z! This is the most stunning quilt I have ever seen, absolutely stunning artwork. I can truly appreciate the time that goes into a project like this, she is to be commended. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

I came in to give you a HUGE thank you for the link to the soap, but I got side tracked by the gorgeous quilts. I love your blog and been a follower, but like so many of us, I have been busy lately and haven't been blogging.
I don't know if you have tried this soap or not, but it's very inexpensive, smells like heaven and cleans well. I have always hated spending the money laundry soap takes and all the perfumes that are involved, not counting the chemicals. Of course, we all love being able to do something quickly and making soap seems like it would take a long time, but the most time in this recipe is the grating of the bar soap.....THANK YOU. My mother wanted the recipe and I couldn't find it.....now I will keep it close...gesh, I love bloggers....have a great weekend, Char
Your quiting is amazing. B
