Farm Fresh Friday #12

Welcome to Farm Fresh Friday

Thank you so much for visiting...

Please pull up a chair and
take a little time to visit the
wonderful bloggers participating
in this blog hop!!

This week on the prairie....

Routine!

Every morning it's the same routine...

Sully, our rooster, makes sure everybody
is up and at it at the crack of dawn.

With crazy hot weather,
mornings are the only
time of day that you
can do anything outdoors!

My routine starts
with a quick cup of coffee
then it's time to water my flowers...

Mr. Sall is up with Sully and
out watering the garden by 5:00 a.m.

When the sun is coming up
the boys are in the garden
picking cucumbers for
a day of pickling...

Sall's got a keen eye for those
sneaky cucumbers!

Max stays close behind Sall
to get the giant ones they missed
the day before!

So far...
with the sprinklers and soaker hoses
going every day,
our little row of cucumbers
is producing enough
for me to can daily!

The dill has now caught up
to the cucumbers,
along with the garlic...

Sall's garlic harvest
was a huge success
as always!...

Cukes...

Garlic...

Dill...

and
last year's
Chili Peppers Dried...

Now everything in the jar
is our own
home-grown
product...

I can get a few weeds pulled
before the thermometer
climbs to
110 degrees Fahrenheit!!

Then it's inside to can a few jars of pickles!!

Nothing fresh about routine,
just great fresh veggies
that our routine rotates around!!

Harvest time is just beginning...
no time for lolli-gagging!!

What are you harvesting now?

Please share!

This is a place to share all things FRESH,
 homemade and/or home-grown.
There is no rule that it has to be made by you or grown by you,
just the fact that it was
hand made or grown by somebody
and not mass-produced or imported from Timmbucktu is good enough for us!!

Gotta love a pickle maker.

I have been "putting up" pickles for almost fifty years. I used to do tomatoes, sauces, peaches, jams, crock sweets. Canned hot bath and froze things too.

Now just a few cucumbers for two of the grandkids using their great gramma's recipe with grape leaves. Fourteen and eighteen . . . these two boys could live on dill pickles!

Loved seeing your gardens of cucumbers and dill . . .
Careful of the heat . . .

Mother Nature is certainly make everyone work to keep her wonderful bounty growing this season, with the incredibly hot temps.

Our flower gardens have been giving us plenty of early mornings. Thankfully we have a stream to quench their thirst from - otherwise the well (where we get our water for the house) would run dry with all this heat.

Your veggies look amazing and sounds like Mr. Rooster is doing a great job of getting everyone working... wishing you a fabulous week-end and little rain..xo C. (HHL)

GORGEOUS photos and I so enjoyed a peek into your day and your gardens. Routine around here usually starts with coffee and then off to water, water, water -- praying for rain :)

Blessings!

A few drops of rain here last night, but mostly it was a lot of noise. Love your dill picture, so pretty.

Hello and Happy Friday, We have been pickin string beans the last few days. Your garden and photos are awesome have a great weekend! Anna
Sounds like nice mornings on your farm Lisa and enough harvest to make yummy pickles.
In my little 2x12 ft patch I've already picked some red beets, yellow beans and green onions. Everyone here is saying the carrots are poor this year, hardly any of mine germinated and they look pretty sad.
Heat, drought and more of the same - could be worse like out west where they're sick of rain. :-)
Judith
Your garden is really looking great with things ready to can. I used to do a lot of that in my younger days. I leave it to my daughters now.
Thanks for inviting me to the party. I just linked up.

How do you get such beautiful garlic bulbs! We didn't get anything worth bothering with this year.

Have a super weekend! Stay cool.
