Rural Thursday

In the neighborhood....

the pheasant count
is excellent!

babies of various sizes
all over the roads...

this group is heading
north down 370th Avenue
(that's straight towards our backyard!)

the meadows are still pretty...

a baby meadowlark
is wondering where the
nearest bath is?...

A couple of raindrops fell this morning

our morning glories lit up
with delight....

the wheat harvest is done,
golden bales
dot the countryside...

Farmers will probably move
right on into the corn fields
and start cutting corn for sileage...

the weeds are still green

the grass in our backyard is dead
and the poor finches are eating
anything we throw out!!

Happy to have you here,
next time could you bring a little rain with ya?
Hugs,
Lisa

Great photos. Something about golden bales of hay makes me feel fall is approaching.

Lovely photos ! We had storms last night and are still having them lots of rain finally after a month and a half , Its bit to late though for some farmers crops here it is a shame ! Papa and I were outside last night taking photos of the amazing clouds with a bit of the sunset shining as it was becoming covered and the storms were rolling in ! I would love to send some rain your way to ! Have a good day !

Wonderful photographs. I wish I had some rain to send your way. We are being told we are now in the worse section of the drought. Having to rethink this gardening hobby of mine. Hugs! Bonnie

Glad the wheat harvest is at least good? We received a few drops last night too -- but not enough to really make a difference.

Beautiful shots! Love the lark on the fence and those round hay bales! Glad to hear the pheasants numbers are good.

hoping you get some rains soon!
If I knew how to summon rain, I'd send it your way! Love the pheasants.

I love that meadowlark! It's our state bird. So cool that everything is blurry behind him or her.
